Who I Help: A Profile Series

I practice law based on my professional and personal ethics. I grew up rural in upstate New York where the median income is a tourism-driven $40,000.00 per year (At best). My grandparents (Who raised me) instilled a strong belief in real value, community ethos, and having the integrity to speak plainly and honestly, regardless of whether you stand to benefit. The byproduct of that? I decided to start a law practice that looks out for the stable and long term growth of this lovely slice of Northern Virginia that I now call home. Legal services aren’t a luxury, they’re a peace of mind in your business venture, a peace of mind in your legacy planning, and the cheapest insurance policy you’ll ever buy.

In this series, I want to take some time to talk about who I help, not just why I practice what I do. The average person sees lawyers as time suck and a bank-drain. Let’s upend that equation with this series – I want to highlight my clients, the problems I solve, and what you can expect when working with me.
We’ll talk about my client who wanted to sort things out as her husband deals with decline. We’ll discuss the small business owner at risk due to contracts drafted by AI. We’ll look at the blended family looking to have peace of mind as they head towards retirement. We’ll even take a peek behind the curtains in my own home and why I found estates and business practice so critical.
Really, what I want this series to convey is that, as an attorney, I wear three hats and carry myself in a way that reflects rural values. I’m an advocate – here to fight on your behalf, here to argue in your favor, and here to help you strategize. I’m a counselor – focused on balancing the values, obligations, and externalities that may get lost in the fray to give you some form of comfort and assurance. I’m an advisor – someone who can help make you an informed decision maker and connect you with resources that will leave you better off than when we first met. In all things, I’m a man shaped by rural values; someone obligated to provide you with real value because every penny you’ve got was earned and valuable so I have to honor that.
I hope that you’ll see yourself in this series. I also hope you’ll see the value in a local attorney who views his practice not just as a way to make a living, but as an active role in helping the community in a way that’s accessible, reasonable, and valuable. As a lawyer, I’m not engaged in a business, I’m engaged in the lives of my clients. The business you set up to take care of your family becomes something I take seriously to ensure that you thrive. The children and home that you want to take care of become the estates document we put together so that you have closure and comfort. That home you want to keep in the family and the retirement account that you want to avoid as a tax bomb for your kids? I help you structure those things to achieve those goals.
If you are in the market for an attorney to help you set up your business or take it to the next level with a local resource, contact me today and check back on this profile series.

I am Brandon Davis, Attorney at Law, someone who believes that rural values drive real value and real relationships. You’re not just my client, you’re my neighbors. You are real people with real hopes, not an engagement letter and an invoice. I look forward to sharing the stories of my clients and the problems I solve.
